TRS Plan 3 has two components:
- A Defined Benefit component like TRS Plan 2, which provides a guaranteed lifetime monthly retirement benefit based on your years of service and compensation, provided you meet the age and service requirements.
- A Defined Contribution component in which you choose the level of your contributions and how they are invested.
